Ten Years of Departure Songs
Post-rock legends We Lost The Sea will perform their landmark record Departure Songs with the musicians of The Metropolitan Orchestra and Vox, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
Departure Songs is inspired by failed, yet honourable events throughout history where people have done extraordinary things for the greater good. Each song is a soundtrack to a story, from the tragic 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster to the ill-fated last dive of David Shaw.
The record was the band's 3rd album and their first instrumental album, after the unfortunate loss of vocalist Chris Torpy.
Since 2015, Departure Songs has earned critical acclaim, sold thousands of records, millions of streams and propelled multiple world tours.
Joining We Lost The Sea is special guest Voix Nulle
Voix Nulle (pronounced Vwa-Noole) is the experimental ambient and electronic project of Sydney-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Warner. Using hardware synthesisers, samplers and drum machines, Warner crafts immersive soundscapes that balance the unpredictability of analogue gear with the structural weight of intentional song form.
A veteran of Australia’s underground music scene, Warner played in 2000s metal outfit Sound the Mute before joining post-rock band We Lost The Sea in 2008, contributing to their first three records. Voix Nulle’s debut release, Latticework, is due out digitally and on dual vinyl LP on 31 October 2026.
